Sean O’Malley put on a striking masterclass against Marlon ‘Chito’ Vera at UFC 299. He took on the hard-hitting bantamweight contender and didn’t hesitate one bit to engage in a striking battle. As such, he won the fight via unanimous decision (50-45,50-45 and 50-44). Overpowering his overall performance, one particular knee from ‘Suga’ caught the attention of the fight world.

After finding his range and dominating the first round, Sean O’Malley unleashed a relentless attack on Chito Vera in the second. As such, with 1 minute and 26 seconds to go in the round, the bantamweight champion hit Vera”s chin with a blasting right knee. It snapped Vera’s head back and produced a thunderous sound. However, the Ecuadorian held his ground and didn’t even look fazed.

That knee from Sean O’Malley received a huge response from the commentary team. Especially considering the loud sound it made. As such, Joe Rogan, Daniel Cormier, and John Anik all wondered how Chito Vera took it. Further, fight fans snapped a clip of the knee and shared it on social media.

With this win, Sean O’Malley has avenged the only loss in his professional career. Also, he defended his bantamweight title for the first time. As such, he set his eyes on a new challenge and called out the featherweight champion Ilia Topuria for a super fight. But, he was also willing to defend his title against Merab Dvalishvili. As such, how O’Malley’s career proceeds remains mysterious at the moment.

Addressing the journalists at the post-fight press conference, Dana White spoke about the records UFC 299 created. He stated that this event was the highest-grossing event at the Kaseya Center. It became the fourth highest-grossing event in UFC history. As such, he spoke about Sean O’Malley vs. Chito Vera and called it the “Biggest Bantamweight fight of all time.”

Further, Dana White mentioned the factors that made the main event of UFC 299 the ‘biggest bantamweight fight.’ As such, he praised Sean O’Malley’s stardom and affirmed ‘Suga’ was on his way to becoming a star like Conor McGregor. Here is what he said:
