“This division sucks” – Sean O’Malley’s huge jump in bantamweight rankings leaves the fans annoyed

After UFC 280, the Bantamweight division has gone through a huge change in the fighter’s rankings. One of the biggest changes is Sean O’Malley being the #1 fighter of the division. O’Malley had an incredibly close fight with Petr Yan at UFC 280 and won the fight via split decision. However, the decision was highly controversial and criticized by many fight fans as they considered it a robbery. 

Other than that, Aljamain Sterling defeated TJ Dillashaw via TKO which dropped the fighter three positions to #5. Other potential title contenders, Merab Dvalishvili and Marlon Vera both got promoted and now rank at #3 and #4 respectively. With O’Malley suddenly coming from #11 to the top, it resulted in many fighters dropping down one position.

However, Cory Sandhagen who won his last fight at UFC Vegas 60 is currently at #6, dropping two positions. Similarly, Rob Font, Dominick Cruz, Pedro Munez, Yadong Song, and Ricky Simon all got dropped by one position from their previous rankings.

Fight fans brutally troll the Bantamweight rankings as Sean O’Malley climbs 10 spots

The rankings got a variety of responses from the fight fans and most of them weren’t satisfied by it.  One fan couldn’t accept the fact that UFC ranked Sean O’Malley as the number-one fighter in the division.“THEY ACTUALLY PUT SEAN AT #1 LMFASO WHAT IS LIFE” he wrote.

Another fan showed his disappointment with the rankings by roasting the whole division and the fighters, “This division sucks, everyone screaming about how stacked it is, everyone sucks“

A fan claimed that Cory Sandhagen should be ahead of O’Malley, “Cory sandhagen would be first if he had pink braided hair and smoked weed on camera. The d riding is insane.”

It is true that the division has gone through an incredible change in the last few months and a user pointed out the same writing, “Isn’t it crazy how fast everything has changed. march of last year Yan was a killer that couldn’t be stopped now he’s lost his last 2 fights. Sean was fighting Thomas Almeida and wasn’t ranked and now he’s the number 1 contender ?”
