The UFC Noche event in Las Vegas entertained fans with many fights ending in finishes. However, the title rematch between Alexa Grasso and Valentina Shevchenko ended in a split draw. This disappointed many fans and fighters alike as they expected a winner. However, UFC matchmaker Sean Shelby reacted uniquely after seeing the scorecards and results.
Shelby was in the ring after the fight and was talking to former champion Daniel Cormier. However, Shelby was me, with ring announcer Bruce Buffer carrying the final scorecards in his hand. Buffer showed Shelby the scorecard and told him the decision in his ear. Shelby looked shocked and could be seen saying, “What the f**k.” Shelby’s reaction and people’s reaction remained the same.
Sean Shelby is a vital part of the UFC and is responsible for some of the most iconic fights in recent UFC history. He has a good relationship with UFC President Dana White and many UFC fighters as well. However, Shelby did face some backlash from fighters over fight locations and matchups. There is no doubt that Shelby is a major benefactor in the UFC’s current success.
The fight between Grasso and Shevchenko was not up to the mark, as it ended in a split draw. However, there is a high possibility of a trilogy fight already in the works. Fans will look forward to seeing the two champions back in the cage to complete their rivalry.
Alexa Grasso retained her championship due to a split draw against Valentina Shevchenko
Both Grasso and Shvechenko are two of the best female fighters in the world. They have both defeated many top contenders and dominated them. However, the two finally fought each other at UFC 285 when Grasso submitted Shevchenko in the fourth round. However, their recent showdown at UFC Noche was not as entertaining.
Grasso retained the title via a split draw. It was a very close and competitive fight, with both fighters having their moments. In the end, the judges scored the fight as a majority draw, with one judge scoring the fight for Shevchenko, one scoring the fight for Grasso, and one scoring the fight as a draw. However, both fighters were confident they had done enough to beat their opponent.
It is difficult to say who would win in a third fight between Grasso and Shevchenko. Both fighters are very evenly matched. It would likely come down to who can execute their game plan better on the night.
