Sean Strickland sheds light on why the UFC is getting flooded with foreign fighters each year. The UFC is the biggest MMA promotion in the world and hosts fighters all around the world. However, it has been noticed that lately, the promotions are bringing a lot of fighters outside of America.
During the podcast with Joe Rogan, UFC middleweight Sean Strickland talked about the scenario in detail. According to the Fighter, in other countries, it’s easier to live with less money in comparison to the US. According to Strickland, that’s the reason the UFC is hiring from outside, as those fighters are willing to fight for less money.
He said: “The average house in Brazil to buy is like $200k. An average house in America is four or five. So you see a lot more foreigners in the sport. You are like, why are there more foreigners in the sport? America’s is p****. I’m like no, because they can afford it. So they sign these Brazilians and these daggies, they go home with their 20k and they are living life good.”
Sean Strickland mentioned why more fighters from Brazil and Dagestan are coming to the UFC because, after getting paid their $20k, they are doing pretty well in their own country.
Joe Rogan on Islamic MMA fighters being the most disciplined in the world
Joe Rogan has been in the business for a long time now and has seen a lot of fighters in his UFC commentator career. However, Rogan has never seen more disciplined or dominant fighters who follow the Islamic religion.
In one of his podcast with Mike Baker, Rogan said; “Some of the most disciplined people that I know of are very religious. It’s really fascinating, particularly fighters like a lot of the Islamic fighters out of Dagestan. They’re some of the most dominant and religious fighters, so devout. They don’t have the distractions that a lot of hedonists do. The guys at Khabib Nurmagomedov’s camp are some of the most dominant fighters.”
Rogan explained in detail how fighters from Dagestan don’t have any distractions and always focus on their training. Rogan took the example of former lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov, his camp, and the fighters who have performed well in every promotion they have gone to.
