Sean Strickland didn't mince words when asked about Jake Paul's upcoming exhibition fight with Mike Tyson.

YouTube giant Jake Paul taking the fight to 30-years senior Mike Tyson is an alarming notion. At a current standing of 9-1 (6KOs) Paul recently rocked the boxing community with the news of facing Tyson. ‘Iron Mike’ will be 58 when he dukes it out with 27-year-old YouTuber-turned-pro boxer Paul. It takes place on July 20 at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the Dallas Cowboys. Many have voiced their angst over it; now, Sean Strickland has chimed in as well.

Strickland is now 28-6 MMA, 15-6 UFC, losing out his gold at UFC 297 in his maiden defense. Since then the unhinged former champ has subjected many incisive disses at fight peers and influencers. Later, ‘Tarzan’ took to social media to come clean about being mentally unwell. He once again resonated on his filter dropping and on not being stable enough.

However, in prime unfiltered fashion, here’s what he told The Schmo:

I wanted to fu**ing murder Jake Paul...It’s bullsh*t, man. I mean, how old is Mike Tyson? 60? Jake Paul, you are a disgrace of a man. You are the epitome of weakness, the scum of the Earth. The fact you even have a platform or anything of that nature is a slight on society...If I ever encounter you in real life, I just hope I don’t lose my sh*t and go to prison...
Sean Strickland told The Schmo

Infamous for not mincing his words, Sean Strickland’s issues with Paul stem from him sparring with Rumble streamer Sneako. Seeing the footage, Paul had offered him a $1 million fight purse but Strickland refused. He listed UFC CBO and head litigator, Hunter Campbell blocking the offer as a reason, while also hinting this as a blessing in disguise. He also opined that Paul has fake PPV buyouts.

Mike Tyson has been the consensus heavyweight icon of boxing since eras past. Strickland, who candidly incorporates the “Philly Shell” – a non-standard defensive style, would naturally be an avid supporter and thus against it. Concurrently, this isn’t the only sneer he dissed out at an industry peer. Another victim happens to be the legendary Jon Jones.

Sean Strickland disses Jon Jones for avoiding Tom Aspinall

Influencer-boxer Jake Paul facing 50-6-1 legend Mike Tyson is not a prospect that excites all. Colby Covington has expressed concerns over Tyson’s advanced age playing a factor. Conor McGregor considers Tyson’s return against a much younger Paul to be puzzling. While pro-boxing peer Ryan Garcia thinks the only way out for Paul is to have a rigged outcome.

So it is natural for another fighter to sound off on such issues in a segment. But, would it justify preemptively taking shots at an inactive fighter? According to Sean Strickland – yes. The middleweight recently took aim at Jon Jones for avoiding a title unification bout with Tom Aspinall.

Aspinall (14-3 MMA, 7-1 UFC) won the interim heavyweight championship at UFC 295, with a highlight 69-second KO. However, Jones engaged in an unfruitful rant about his unproven heavyweight legacy, snubbing him off a unification. Hence comes Strickland’s tirade against such practices of hiding out. Check out what he had to say to The Schmo on the matter:

Jones suffered a pectoral tear, forcing him out of UFC 295; Aspinall had thus stepped in instead. Now, the heavyweight has undergone yet a subsequent elbow surgery and is on the sidelines. Only time will tell if he ever offers up a chance for the Brit to unify his hardware in a long-drawn matchup.
