Sean Strickland recently spoke with MMA journalist Helen Yee. Strickland didn’t mince words when addressing this issue. He believed the mainstream media tried to cancel out anyone with traditional values. This is what he said:
The media is cancer. Everything I am, everything we are, they hate. Everything i say, traditional values, you know, keeping the government out of your home. Everything I say, they f****ng hate.Sean Strickland via Helen Yee Sports
Strickland is known for his outspoken personality. The middleweight never shied away from controversy. His stance on various social and political issues often draws criticism. He claimed that media outlets intentionally misrepresented his views. Strickland’s traditional values extend to his personal life and relationships as well. He believed in gender roles in marriage and life.
This particular aspect of his values has drawn significant backlash from some quarters. However, ‘Tarzan‘ remained unapologetic about his beliefs and way of life. Strickland’s loyalty to his principles earned him both ardent supporters and critics. His outspoken nature continues to polarize opinion within the MMA community.
Sean Strickland refuses to pick sides in the UFC 300 headliner
UFC 300 is approaching fast. The much-anticipated event pits Jamahal Hill vs. Alex Pereira for the light heavyweight title. Sean Strickland weighed in on the upcoming title fight. He addressed the highly anticipated matchup between Alex Pereira and Jamahal Hill.
Helen Yee asked Strickland to predict the winner of the UFC 300 main event. Surprisingly, Strickland refused to take sides in this fight. He said Alex Pereira was his friend, but he also had no problem with Jamahal Hil. Strickland gave a hilarious reason why he didn’t want to pick sides. This is what Strickland said:
He [Jamahal Hill] is a nice guy... I just started getting a lot of black friends now. I used to not have a lot of black friends. And now i'm being welcomed by them.Sean Strickland via Helen Yee Sports
The reason from Strickland remains hilarious and confusing at the same time. Despite ‘Tarzan’ not picking a winner, gambling sites have Alex Pereira as a slight favorite over Jamahal Hill. Only time will tell if Pereira manages to defend his light heavyweight title for the first time.
