Once more, Sean Strickland has all eyes on him. His controversial comments have always been on the offensive side.

Currently, Israel Adesanya is dominating the middleweight division in the UFC. The Last Stylebender is a master of striking and is 5th in the UFC pound-for-pound rankings. He lost his title to Alex Pereira but regained it in the rematch at UFC 287. Adesanya will next be facing Sean Strickland for the next event UFC 293. Before coming to the UFC, Strickland was the former middleweight champion in King of the Cage. He is known for his trash talking, which he continues even within the octagon. As usual, Strickland had some controversial words for Adesanya before their fight.

Strickland had previously revealed Adesanya to be Chinese, due to his initial Kickboxing career in China. Now, he has added more controversial statements to this comment. Strickland said, “I’m fighting Izzy the Chinese man, you guys, and here’s the thing, I always called Izzy the Chinese champion, but Izzy is not the Chinese champion. Izzy is a modern day man, Izzy is a Chinese sl*t. He sold himself for a dollar, and you guys, we’re gonna bring that belt back to America.” This promotion stunt by Strickland has already gained a lot of views.

As all UFC fans would know, Adesanya has had a long career in the Kickboxing field. He was a Glory Middleweight title contender but suffered two defeats from the champion Alex Pereira. After making a move to UFC, he has lost only two bouts, with Jan Blachowicz and Pereira again. Adesanya has fought and defeated the best middleweights, a list that includes, Robert Whittaker, Yoel Romero, and Paulo Costa.

As Strickland and Adesanya look forward to settling their differences, Stylebender is clearly the favorite. However, Strickland has been able to showcase great skills in his previous fights. An upset against the champ would surely shock the entire MMA community

UFC 293 is set to feature Israel Adesanya vs. Sean Strickland. Adesanya is the undisputed champion of the middleweight division and Strickland is 5th in line for the title. Needless to say, Adesanya has a significant advantage with striking quality, superb kicks, and a long range. The Last stylebender has only been defeated two times in MMA. Strickland will be facing his toughest challenge to date.

Adesanya is also quite confident about this match-up. After facing fighters like Anderson Silva, Robert Whittaker, and Alex Pereira, his skillset and experience are undoubtedly on another level. Strickland, who is known for trash-talking, has also been getting insulting replies. As a response to Strickland criticizing Adesanya for painting his nails, the champ declared how he would beat him with the same hands.

The two fighters are sure to settle scores in this event. Strickland is clearly the underdog in this fight. Though how the recent fight cards have been unfolding, an upset would also be welcomed.
