“Outpoint Alex for 5 rounds,” Sean Strickland predicts Israel Adesanya vs Alex Pereira potential title fight

Ariel Helwani- Sean Strickland- Israel Adesanya

No matter how much Sean Strickland and Israel Adesanya are not fond of each other, he cannot deny who he finds as the better fighter between Adesanya and Alex Pereira. Strickland last fought at UFC 276 when he lost his chance to secure a title shot by losing to Alex Pereira via knockout in the opening round. Pereira is now most likely going to be Adesanya’s upcoming title defence fight. The two have fought each other twice in kickboxing.

On the same fight card as Strickland and Pereira, Adesanya, the UFC middleweight champion, defended his title for the fifth time, this one against Jared Cannonier via unanimous decision. The fashion of the victory didn’t fancy the majority of the fans much as they were expecting a more spectacular result from Adesanya. However, UFC President Dana White has assured us that Adesanya’s fight against Pereira will be guaranteed showstopper of a fight.

In an interview with Dave Schmulenson aka THE SCHMO, Strickland talks about being at the low point of his life following the loss to Pereira, him being unable to corner his teammate Chris Curtis this weekend at UFC London and much more. Strickland then gives his thoughts on Adesanya and how he thinks the latter’s fight against Pereira will go.

“I said to Izzy, just because you can fight, doesn’t mean you aren’t a b**ch,” says Strickland “And I think Izzy’s gonna beat Alex. I think Izzy’s gonna stand there, Izzy’s gonna bounce around and outpoint Alex for five rounds, and we’re all gonna say Izzy’s the best in the world, doesn’t change the fact he’s a b**ch,” says Strickland.
