Following his win over Robert Whittaker, Dricus Du Plessis caught the attention of reigning UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya. However, the latter has already moved on from Du Plessis and set his sights on a fight with Sean Strickland.

Sean Strickland has hit the jackpot by being in talks for a championship fight against Israel Adesanya. According to Strickland, talks between Dricus Du Plessis and Adesanya fell through for a reason that Sean Strickland supposedly empathizes with. Dricus Du Plessis hesitated to fight Adesanya due to the short time gap between fights. Any fighter would doubt taking up a championship fight with seven weeks’ notice.

Sean Strickland has made a name for himself recently through his skills in the octagon and his hilarious media statements. Strickland has stayed mainstream and has avoided being canceled by the public. Izzy might capitalize on Strickland’s new fame and increase his title defenses with a win over Sean Strickland. This doesn’t seem to be a problem for Strickland, who wants to profit from the high-profile UFC fight.

Sean Strickland stated that he is “a man,” unlike Du Plessis, and will be ready to fight Izzy at any time as long as he is paid. It’s safe to say the fans would agree with Strickland when he said, “No one wants to watch that Chinese motherfu*ker fight Du Plessis; they want to see me fight.”

Israel Adesanya seemed furious due to his issues with Dricus Du Plessis. After Du Plessis’ win over Robert Whittaker, their controversial face-off sparked a potential matchup between the two African natives. Izzy even received a lot of criticism for harping too much about his love for Africa and baiting Du Plessis to use the N-word.

But unfortunately, as per Izzy’s latest video release on social media, the UFC champ was forced to call off the fight because Du Plessis was a “pus*y.” Israel Adesanya explained that he was “champion material” because of his willingness of not letting injuries back him out of an important fight.

Adesanya also stated that Alexander Volkanovski was another example of a true champion. Izzy stated that he doesn’t want to put his belt on the line with someone like Du Plessis. According to him, Sean Strickland is the next worthy opponent for a title shot to determine the king of the middleweight division.
