Belal Muhammad recently called out Khamzat Chimaev and Sean Strickland for a fight at 185 pounds if he cannot get his wish at the Welterweight division. However, it looks like Strickland did not appreciate the call-out, as Belal had earlier refused to spar with Strickland at the UFC Performance Institute.

After Gilbert Burns defeated Jorge Masvidal at UFC 287, he leapfrogged Belal to become the new backup fighter for the Welterweight title. Belal has since then expressed his unhappiness and indicated his desire to fight either Strickland or Chimaev. However, Strickland has come forward with the story of Muhammad ducking him at the UFC PI and refusing his advances.

Belal Muhammad remains without an opponent and stands no chance at a Welterweight title shot for the foreseeable future. In the meantime, he has indicated a desire to compete at 185 pounds, calling out Khamzat Chimaev and Sean Strickland. However, Strickland has not  taken kindly to the call out and accused Belal of not sparring at the UFC PI. Check out the back-and-forth interaction between both fighters:

Strickland has not fought since his win over Nassourdine Imavov. He and Belal remain without an opponent; however, Strickland has no interest in fighting Belal, with nothing to gain from the fight. Belal is rumoured to fight Shavkat Rakhmonov, but the fight has yet to materialise.

Considering the situation of the Middleweight division, Strickland will soon find an opponent to push forward to a potential title shot. Belal is further down the pecking order in his division as Gilbert Burns leapfrogged him as the backup fighter for the next Welterweight Championship.
