Sean Strickland and Israel Adesanya hurled accusations at each other during the fight week of UFC 293. Post his victory, Strickland revealed about Adesanya’s confrontation after the end of UFC 293. The champion was visibly surprised by Adesanya confronting him about “his dead dog.”
When answering Mike Bohn of MMA Junkie at the presser, Strickland explained Adesanya’s confrontation about “his dead dog.” He said, “What the f**k is going on? Are we having this conversation? He truly was mad.” Strickland clarified that Adesanya was visibly upset about Strickland making fun of the dog. Bohn clarified to Strickland that the former champion’s dog had already passed away, and Adesanya had tattooed its likeness on his neck. Strickland also admitted to killing a dog once when Bohn made the John Wick reference Adesanya made after the weigh-ins.
The fight between Strickland and Adesanya went as Danny Davis Jr. predicted. Moreover, even Eugene Bareman gave props to Strickland for performing well against his star pupil. Strickland admitted in the press conference that the game plan consisted of wrestling but did not require it at UFC 293. Sean Strickland had a fun time at the press conference.
The champion clarified his stance on what is next. He said that nobody had a choice, and he would fight anybody that the promotion put in front of him.
