UFC middleweight Sean Strickland is set to fight champion Israel Adesanya at UFC 293. The duo will headline the event in Sydney, Australia. Despite his fighting skills, Strickland is known around the UFC for his controversial statements. In the media interviews leading up to the fight, the world expected more such antics from Strickland. And, the no.5 ranked contender didn’t fail in disappointing his fans, as he came out with another controversial message by threatening a YouTuber.
In an interview with MMA reporter Nina Marie-Daniele, Strickland sent a threatening message to YouTuber Bradley Martyn. Recently, Martyn was in the news due to his consistent callouts of combat fighters. Martyn called out fighters like Nate Diaz, Demetrious Johnson, Devin Haney, and Aljamain Sterling. When Nina mentioned Martyn’s name, Strickland resorted to warning the YouTuber. He said,” Bradley Martyn, if you’re here right now and if I can get away with it, I would take your f**king life. I would kill him.“
Martyn has claimed on his YouTube channel that he held an edge over UFC fighters who weighed less than him. The YouTuber reportedly weighs around 260 pounds, way more than the names he called out. These actions have brought him some publicity in the combat world.
However, Strickland was in no mood to entertain such callouts. His message clearly indicated how he felt about such stunts. Fighters from the UFC train every day to transform themselves into lethal weapons. Undeniably, weight plays a significant role in a fight, but so does skill. The department where UFC fighters do not shy away.
