Shavkat Rakhmonov dominates UFC veteran Neil Magny at UFC Vegas 57
Round 1 The people’s main event is here and the two fighters take the center. Magny looks to throw a kick but Shavkat catches his leg and throws him down. Rakhmonov gets on top of Neil and is looking to ground and pound. Body shots from the prospect as he looks to control Magny from the top. Neil throws an upkick from the ground but Shavkat pushes the veteran back to the cage. Huge elbows from Shavkat and Magny manages to tie his opponent’s leg.
Round 2 Another kick from Magny that Shavkat manages to catch. Rakhmonov with a spinning kick of his own but Magny manages to survive the damage. Shavkat manages a takedown and looks to drain punches on the veteran. Rakhmonov gets the side-mount and Magny looks in danger. Shavkat looks for the choke and manages to tap out his opponent. What an amazing performance from Rakhmonov.
This is incredibly patient work from the #15 ranked prospect. This victory against Neil will sure get Rakhmonov into the top 10 of the welterweight division. We have a very interesting contender in the making. That is 16 fights and 16 finishes for the Kazakh.
