Shavkat Rakhmonov. the undefeated welterweight contender faces Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson at UFC 296. The all-out welterweight event headlining champion Leon Edwards and challenger Colby Covington takes place on Dec. 16. Speaking at the UFC 296 media day interview, the fighter has called out “Chaos” with a ballistic forewarning.

Edwards locks horns with Colby “Chaos” Covington, after handing a skid to previous champion Kamaru Usman at UFC 278 and UFC 286. Covington served as a backup for the last of the trilogy bout, thus earning a title shot. Now, Rakhmonov has dared the brash-mouthed fighter with a callout. Speaking during the media day, he said:

I believe I’m very close to a title shot. I just need to win...

The fighter also lauded Thompson’s karate acumen and the need to cautiously adapt to it accordingly. At 17-0 MMA, 5-0 UFC, the fighter feels close to home to title contention. Thus came the callout to the possible victor Covington. A prime reaction to this read:

He now has 17 highlight finishes; with 9 submissions and 8 KOs. Now, the fighter accordingly squares off against divisional peer Stephen Thompson.
