Controversial streamer Sneako had a brutal sparring session with Sean Strickland at the UFC PI. Strickland is a stern critique of influencers and YouTubers but showered respect on Sneako after they sparred. However, many, including UFC CEO Dana White, did not like what they saw at the UFC PI. As such, they banned Sneako from the PI.
Before his sparring with Strickland, Sneako trained with UFC veteran Jake Shields. Shields did not like the idea of a streamer sparring with Strickland. Sneako revealed having a concussion due to his sparring sessions. He spoke about it on a live stream. This is what he said.
I've been sparring too much, 4 rounds; 1 round with a pro and 3 rounds with Nate (Diaz) which was a couple of days after (Sean) Strickland. I took some licks...I'm losing track of the days, I've never had a concussion that serious.Sneako via livestream
The streamer has not taken the ailment seriously, as he compared it with the CTE of Rocky Balboa in the Rocky film series. Moreover, he hilariously stated that he might have had more significant CTE problems than Balboa.
Sneako has no combat sports experience. However, One Championship grappling champion Mikey Musumeci challenged him to an MMA fight after an online beef. Sneako accepted the challenge but laid out conditions beyond Musumeci’s control. Nate Diaz sided with the streamer in the beef and called Musumeci homophobic slang.
UFC veteran advises amateurs not to spar with professionals after controversial sparring at UFC PI
Former UFC title challenger Jake Shields is a close friend of Sneako. Like Sneako, Shields has dug deep into Zionist conspiracy theories, which he often shared on social media. As a good acquaintance, Shields was against the idea of Sneako sparring with Sean Strickland. Nonetheless, Sneako went on to spar Strickland and was recently revealed to have suffered CTE.
After Sneako’s revelation, Shields took on X to provide some advice. He stated that one of the main reasons the streamer did not suffer a severe concussion was because he blocked many of Strickland’s punches. Otherwise, Shields felt the streamer would’ve been bedridden for weeks. Moreover, he also urged that amateurs should not spar with professionals without a prior agreement not to go hard.
A concussion is a grave danger in the sport of MMA. If a fighter has suffered a brutal knockout loss, ample time must be taken before they step inside the ring. Recently, Alexander Volkanovski lost via brutal knockout to Ilia Topuria at UFC 298. Four months prior, he had suffered a head-kick knockout to Islam Makhachev at UFC 294. Some find victory due to Topuria’s skill. However, others have labelled the victory due to Volkanovski’s eagerness to step too soon after a brutal knockout.
