“Kungfu King” Song Yadong calls out Petr Yan to test ‘heaviest hands’ after dominant win at UFC Vegas 83

Song Yadong faced Chris Gutierrez at UFC Vegas 83. He performed dominantly against Gutierrez and earned a comfortable unanimous decision win. As such, he called out the number five ranked Petr Yan for a fight. Originally, they were scheduled to headline to fight each other. However, Yan suffered an injury and pulled out.
In the post-fight interview, Song Yadong was confident about fighting for a title in the future and announced that the ‘Kung Fu Kid’ was here. As such, he called out the former bantamweight champion Petr Yan. Here is what he said:
Kung Fu Kid is here! I’m coming to get the belt. Petr, I know you want to fight in March. Okay, let’s go in March. Your boxing is good? Okay, let’s go! Who has heaviest hands in this division? I’m coming!!!

Petr Yan went to X and posted a cryptic ‘yawn emoji’ in response to Yadong’s performance at UFC Vegas 83. He metaphorically stated that Yadong’s fight was boring. In reply, ‘The Kung Fu Kid’ sent a banging callout to him. However, many criticized Yadong’s performance as they expected a stand-and-bang fight, but he wrestled his way to victory.
Song Yadong was given a chance to climb up the rankings against Cory Sandhagen in 2022 but fell short. Now, he has racked up two consecutive wins and is knocking on the door to a top-five spot. As such, he wanted the canceled fight with Petr Yan back.

Song Yadong won a dominant unanimous decision win over Chris Gutierrez in UFC Vegas 83. As such, the scorecards read 50-44, 50-45, and 50-45, resulting in a clean sweep. However, former bantamweight champion Petr Yan wasn’t impressed by the performance. He took it to X to mock Yadong with a yawning emoji. As such, ‘Kung Fu Kid’ responded to the mockery in the post-fight press conference.
Although Song Yadong’s fight was a bit different than expected, he got the win as he showed off his wrestling skills. As such, Petr Yan mocked Yadong with a yawning emoji on X. Now, ‘Kung Fu Kid’ fired back at Yan for the same. He fired back and mentioned Yan’s previous fights were also boring. Check out what he said in the tweet below:
Song Yadong referred to Petr Yan’s previous fight with Merab Dvalishvili as boring since ‘No Mercy’ lost a lopsided decision to Dvalishvili. However, Petr Yan was ranked #5 in the bantamweight division and highly regarded for his boxing skills. As such, Song Yadong wanted to test himself with ‘No Mercy’ and called him out.
