Tabatha Ricci and Polyana Viana go head to head in a strawweight bout at UFC Vegas 55
Polyana Viana and Tabatha Ricci face off to rise up the strawweight ranks at UFC Vegas 55 on the undercard of Holly Holm vs Ketlen Vieira
Both Ricci and Viana are coming off of wins in their previous outings. Polyana at 29 years of age has 16 career fights with 12 of them turning in her favor. This is in contrast to Ricci who’s very green to MMA and has 7 fights in the sport with 6 of them ending in victories for the aptly named “Baby Shark”
Round 1
Viana starts off with a heavy body kick, Ricci looks for a takedown and gets wrapped by Viana who goes for an armbar prompting Ricci to get out and on her feet. Viana stays on the ground and lands some good kicks that knock Ricci off balance. They clinch up and Viana tries for a standing guillotine again. Ricci scores another takedown but spends time inside Viana’s guard looking to avoid submissions. Ricci manages to get out of a body triangle with less than 10 seconds left and stands back up.
Round 2
Ricci tries to enter with some punches but is pushed back by heavy kicks from Viana who maintains distance. Ricci tries to land punches but keeps falling out of range, Polyana strikes with a spinning back fist in one of these exchanges. Ricci scores for a taxing takedown with 2 minutes left in the round. Vianna lands heavy kicks to Viana’s knees from the ground that put her off-balance in round 1. Ricci makes it out of an armbar attempt and scores another takedown in the final 10 seconds.

Round 3
Round three opens with some striking exchange from the two, forcing Ricci to clinch up. Viana lands an inside leg kick on Ricci who keeps falling out of range with her punches. Ricci scores a hard-fought takedown and is quick to her feet away from Polyana’s guard. Another takedown attempt from Ricci ends unfavorably as she overshoots and Polyana lands on her instead. The fight ends with Viana landing leg kicks from the ground while a standing Ricci attempts to create openings
Result : Ricci defeats Polyana Viana via unanimous decision
