Many UFC fighters including Terrance McKinney aren’t happy with the new sponsorship deal between UFC and Dwayne Johnson. Earlier in August, Johnson announced that his company, Project Rock, would have a collaboration with the UFC regarding training shoes.

However, later it was revealed that the fighters who will be wearing and promoting them won’t be getting paid for it. It was enough to annoy many fighters who depend on sponsorship money.

Recently at UFC 279, veteran fighter Nate Diaz slammed the shoes on live TV. ” These shoes f* suck. F these shoes.”

Upcoming UFC lightweight prospect, Terrance McKinney recently made a disappointing tweet regarding the new shoe collaboration between Dwayne Johnson and UFC.

McKinney tagged the former WWE star and asked if he really appreciates the fighters in UFC then he should change the way the deal is made. McKinney was respectful and mentioned he knows it’s not Johnson’s fault that this is happening but he should take the responsibility for his company. He wrote :

“Hey brotha @TheRock if you’re a fan of what we do make the deal favorable for the ones modeling your shoe I get it’s not your fault or your business doin it to us but show us the love you think you are. Get in our corner and support us 🙏🏾.”

Previously, fighters were allowed to have their own sponsors in UFC and it was one of the major ways they made the extra money. When Reebok came into the picture it was still giving fighters their cut as sponsorship money. However, with venom and Project Rock, fighters are not getting any direct payment for wearing them.
