Terrance McKinney has had the biggest turnaround most people can ever expect in life. The 27-year-old who was addicted to drugs and alcohol just a few years ago was on death’s door when he finally decided to change things for the better.
Terrance is well aware of how lucky he was to survive the things that he did and often shares his experience with his fans, some of whom find a real refuge in seeing him succeed. Terrance started his professional MMA career in 2017, making his UFC debut in 2021.

His UFC debut was on the prelims of an Adesanya undercard and Terrance delivered like no one could when he ended the bout with a TKO victory in round 1 in less than seven seconds. This was a lightweight record while also being among the fastest knockouts in the UFC.

Terrance then went on a tear when he returned to the cage, running right through Fares Ziam with a first-round submission victory showing his versatility in the field of fighting. It was after this that Terrance accepted one of the riskiest fights of his career yet at a less than 2-week notice against former top 15 fighters, Drew Dober.

Though many might have considered this an ill-advised move on his record, Terrance proved the doubters partly wrong. Though he would go on to lose the bout against Dober, he regardless managed to knock down the former ranked fighter twice within the first round before being finished himself.

Terrance reminisced about how extraordinary the past few years of his life have been. On Twitter, the young star said, “2 years ago I was sittin in my mom’s house playin UFC and thinkin about if I should keep fighting. Today I have a career, 2 UFC records, a ton of fans, and my life is forever changed.” referring to his record for having the fastest knockout at lightweight and his record for the fastest debut performance in the UFC.

He then asked his followers to “Never give up” as he believes that one’s blessings may be waiting for them right around the corner when one decides to quit.
