UFC superstar Conor McGregor has offered his support to fellow countryman and MMA fighter Ryan Curtis. Curtis incurred a life-threatening injury in training this week. The #1 Bellator featherweight contender Leah McCourt announced this on Instagram. Ryan “Chaos” Curtis, her teammate, suffered a gruesome spine injury. According to the peer, Curtis has “no movement in his legs or left arm,” and is under intensive care.

McGregor has already donated $30,000 to the hospitalized MMA fighter. The 22-6 former champion is known for his overt outlook, yet kind and philanthropic ventures. He also engages with a lot of fans and peers on the subject matters of MMA or his homeland. Taking to his IG story, here’s what the Dubliner wrote:

Very sad news on Curta. The game isn't worth the risk. Truth we don't want to speak on. Thank God for your little family Curta, keep them tight and God bless brother, get better you will!

This was after McGregor’s striking coach, Owen Roddy first shared the news on his own IG account. Roddy stated – “My old student for many years and an amazing young man @chaoscurtis suffered a severe and life-changing injury yesterday breaking his neck & back.” Additionally, McCourt also accounted that Curtis cannot move his limbs.

Coincidentally, “The Notorious” has supported a fan during his difficult time. A fight fan who had lost his brother after fighting kidney disease for five years had requested the fighter for a message for his funeral. McGregor has shared dialogues with the duo before. And this is not the only non-fight issue that the fighter has dived into.

The Irishman recently made donations and sent prayers to fellow Irish MMA star Ryan Curtis. Curtis is a 6-4 flyweight out of Dublin, Ireland. With the nickname “Chaos,” Curtis has had one fight in Bellator MMA, where he defeated Luiz Gonzalez at Bellator 217.

The fighter has also fought in notable regional promotions. Recently, he suffered a serious injury and was rushed to the Royal in Belfast and underwent emergency surgery. His sparring partner Leah McCourt initiated a fundraiser, to wherein McGregor has donated $30,000.

But that is not where the buck stops with the superstar and civilian issues of welfare. The fighter recently tweeted on the 2nd anniversary of the death of 23-year-old Irish teacher and musician Ashling Murphy. The fighter has also urged his fans to donate to the ‘Ashling Murphy Memorial Fund’.

Murphy was the victim of a stabbing in 2022, and McGregor’s initial tweets were a response to the incident.
