Chan Sung Jung AKA The Korean Zombie went on against Alexander Volkanovski for the featherweight title at UFC 273. He had replaced Max Holloway as the title contender after the Hawaiian got injured. But the fight didn’t go the way Sung Jung wanted it to be.

From the beginning of the fight, Volkanovski took the charge and dominated the fighter in every round. Sung Jung had no chance to get an opportunity to come back from the slaughter and finally lost the fight via TKO. After losing to Volkanovski in such a dominating fashion it surely raised the question of retirement for Sung Jung.

The fighter opened up about his intentions of leaving the octagon and the sport of MMA forever. But definitely, he will need more time to clearly come up with a decision regarding his future. For the first time after a fight, TKZ has talked about his future. He posted a photo from his Instagram account where he wrote:

“Perhaps I’m old, maybe I’m not good enough, so my goal was to always show everything in every fight, but I didn’t show up every time, so that is why I’m still here. I couldn’t prove it in the last fight, and I’m especially disappointed. This is not an excuse for the loss.”

“I just have some regrets. I’m not saying that it wasn’t 100 percent me, but I think it is right to put on a performance that I believe in, so that is why I want one more fight. I can’t set any long-term goals. For the time being, one fight… I’ll do it in Seoul. Please hold an event,” TKZ concluded.
