UFC Hall of Famer, Pat Miletich was taken into custody on Thursday morning for his third DUI offense. It occured just one month before his planned comeback to MMA. The Bettendorf Police Department in Iowa arrested the UFC veteran after they received a complaint.
According to reports, it was noted that Pat Miletich crossed an embankment and eventually halted at a Shell station. The police report highlighted the officer who arrived at the scene had to rouse the driver. The officer had to specifically remind him to place the idling vehicle in the park position.
The police report indicated that Miletich declined to participate in any field sobriety assessments. He also refused blood and breathalyzer tests, despite his acceptance of consuming wine. Miletich exhibited signs of alcohol consumption, including an odor of alcohol, bloodshot and watery eyes. He also had a slurred speech, and an unstable posture.
Additionally, the report noted recent damage and plant matter on the front of Miletich’s vehicle. Following his third OWI (Operating While Intoxicated) arrest, Miletich was officially booked at 6:16 a.m. local time and subsequently released on a $5,000 bond at 7:59 a.m.
Despite arrest Pat Miletich is ready for his upcoming bout
It’s essential to highlight that Miletich had previously faced two DUI convictions, the first occurring in March 2019 and the second in June 2021. The fighter already had a reputation for drinking and driving and this time it’s not any different.
While the newer generation of fans may primarily recognize “The Croatian Sensation” for his commentary work, it’s important to remember that Miletich was a formidable presence during the early era of MMA. With a record of 29 wins, 7 losses, and 2 draws, this accomplished wrestler first stepped into the octagon in 1998.
Despite this recent legal issue, Miletich is still scheduled to make an appearance at a pre-fight press conference on Thursday evening in preparation for his upcoming match against fellow UFC veteran Mike Jackson. This highly anticipated bout is slated to serve as the main event for Cage Aggression 36, taking place on Saturday, October 14, at the RiverCenter in Davenport, Iowa.
