TJ Dillashaw never believed that Henry Cejudo was going to stay in retirement. The former bantamweight champion takes aim at Triple C for wanting to come out of retirement.

Henry Cejudo, the former flyweight and bantamweight champion of the UFC is looking to set foot inside the UFC octagon again. The fighter has been away from professional fighting for two years as he called his retirement in 2020 after defending his bantamweight belt at UFC 249. Triple C wants to come back and take what originally belonged to him until he decided to hang his gloves.

TJ Dillashaw, the former bantamweight champ is back in the octagon after his ban and is now set to potentially fight for the bantamweight belt next. In a recent interview with Submission Radio, TJ weighs in on Henry’s retirement and his call for a comeback fight.

“I figured so, man. When he retired I think it was kind of a ploy to get him paid more,” said Dillashaw talking to Submission Radio. “That he was worth more than he was and the UFC was like, ‘we don’t give a sh*t nobody likes you anyways,’ you know what I mean.”

TJ Dillashaw is open to avenging his loss against Triple C

“Eventually he was going to come back. He is a gold medalist, a world champion, and he is got completion in his blood. He felt like he went away a little too early,” said TJ on expecting Henry’s return to the octagon. Though TJ believes Cejudo will eye to make a return to the featherweight division given that he has already conquered the flyweight and bantamweight division, Dillashaw would more than happy to welcome Cejudo back.

TJ and Henry met each other in the octagon at UFC Fight Night 143 in Brooklyn where Cejudo knocked out Dillashaw in the very first round. Dillashaw will be more than happy to avenge his loss to Cejudo in the near future. TJ will most likely fight for the title against Aljamain Sterling in his next fight as the two have personally agreed to a fight.
