Michael chandler faced former interim lightweight champion, Tony Ferguson, at UFC 274. while everybody expected the fight to be a banger, Michael chandler showed the world why he was still in the race for the Lightweight title.
Both the fighters were in desperate need of winning the fight and this fight was definitely a career-defining fight for both of them. Both fighters went back and forth in the first round, and Tony even secured an early knockdown against Michael. However, Michael shook the world in the second round as he knocked out Tony Ferguson with a very brutal front kick. Michael became the first man to Knockout Tony Ferguson ever in his MMA career.

Tony did not attend the post-fight interview as he was taken backstage for medical examination. Ferguson was hospitalized following the fight and was later released following a negative CT scan report.
After the fight, Tony finally issued a statement about his loss against Michael. Tony twittered and congratulated Michael Chandler for his incredible victory on Saturday night, and Tony even wished him luck for his future fights.
Tony Tweeted: “Congratulations to Michael Chandler on his victory at UFC 274. Had lots of fun in there, you fans are f****** wild! I love this s***! Feels good to be back & hungry again. We were just getting started. Best of luck in your next fight champ. For the love of the game.”

After Tony congratulated Michael for his victory at UFC 274, Michael returned the favor by showing his respect to Tony on Twitter. Reposting a Tweet, Michael wrote: “If you don’t love @tonyfergusonxt you’re not an MMA fan. Proud to compete against you, champ. CSO!”
As both fighters had a war on Saturday, Michael has once again shown why he is one of the best lightweights in the world. However, Tony has extended his losing streak to 4. What lies ahead of both the fighters will be seen in the future as both move forward in their respective career.
