The Tony Ferguson vs Khabib Nurmagomedov dream rivalry is back as both the superstars have been a part of a twitter altercation. It all started when Fergusson planted the idea of doing a coaching showdown with Nurmagomedov at The Ultimate Fighter. According to Ferguson, he always wanted to compete against at some point of time so let it be through coaching.

After that Nurmagomedov himself got back to Ferguson and accepted the challenge for TUF through a tweet.

This made the fans extremely excited as many have been waiting for Nurmagomedov’s return. If not as a fighter but as a coach. The competition against two of the UFC lightweight legends is something nobody wants to miss.

Nurmagomedov is already a well established coach with many fighters under him. As a coach, Nurmagomedov has an exemplary record. On the other hand, Ferguson have never participated as an official coach but has trained fighters in the gym.

After all that took place on twitter, Tony Ferguson recently made another tweet asking Nurmagomedov a shocking proposal.

Ferguson asked Nurmagomedov for a MMA bout at the welterweight division. He wrote :

“Hey?Fathead @TeamKhabib Can You Make 170?!- Champ ??? -CSO- ????? # TUF?Stuff,”

It was a surprising move by Ferguson as he has not participated in a welterweight bout in a long time now. Similarly, Nurmagomedov throughout his career has always fought in the lightweight division. For this ‘The Eagle’ has also faced criticism for not playing at his weight class and doing extreme weight cuts. Fight fans have always wanted the Dagestani to move up the weight class and fight in the welterweight division.

There is a very rare chance of Nurmagomedov getting back into fighting, let alone as a welterweight. Even if he wants to come back from retirement, he would like to go for the lightweight title shot rather than fight Ferguson. Throughout this negotiation with Nurmagomedov, Ferguson has been seen confused and frequently giving new opinions which might not take this anywhere
