“Run fathead”- Tony Ferguson campaigns to be TUF coach alongside Khabib Nurmagomedov
Tony Ferguson comments on new weight class introduced by Khabib Nurmagomedov in Eagle FC
In a highly anticipated matchup versus Chandler at UFC 274, Tony Ferguson was looking to snap a three-fight losing run. Despite coming off three straight defeats, “El Cucuy” performed far better than many expected in the opening round.
Just a few seconds into the round, Chandler delivered a powerful front kick that instantly put Ferguson out. Tony appeared to be in good spirits and willing to make the necessary adjustments during a recent interview with MMA Junkie.
In the interview he stated, “F*** no! Check this out – If you have an investor, like a venture capitalist, do you think you’re gonna sit there and let your businesses just sit there and float? Absolutely not! You’re gonna sit there and you’re gonna get back to work. You’re gonna do the numbers and you’re gonna make sure you make the good adjustments.”

The possibility of Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson being TUF coaches
Javier Mendez recently spoke on the potential for Khabib Nurmagomedov to return to the UFC, this time as Tony Ferguson’s opponent as a coach on a future season of The Ultimate Fighter. Dana White was asked if he would be interested in making it happen after the two fighters verbally committed to compete against one another as coaches on TUF. The UFC president showed interest in the idea, which sparked rumors.
Since then, it’s been in talks for quite some time in the MMA community as it is appealing and exciting. Tony reacted to this by tweeting out the following, “Run,Fathead”. His tweets are always cryptic yet one can infer he is promulgating the idea of him being The ultimate fight coach along side khabib. Here is the said Tweet,
In the octagon after defeating Justin Gaethje by submission in the second round at UFC 254 two years prior, Khabib declared his retirement, claiming he was doing it to honor his mother’s wishes and to cease competing without his father present. The undefeated lightweight has been linked with a return to the sport ever since, but it doesn’t appear probable that the Dagestani will ever make his dramatic homecoming to the cage.
