Tony Ferguson suffered a brutal knockdown defeat against Michael Chandler at UFC 274. Tony has been with the UFC since his debut in TUF season 13 in 2011. Ferguson won the tournament with a final knockout victory over Ramsey Nijem and since then has been a Reckoning force in the UFC. Ferguson competed in the Welterweight division in the TUF season 13 and moved to lightweight after winning the Ultimate Warrior.

Recently Tony has had a bad run in the UFC. He is currently on a four-fight losing stint and is looking for a way to revive his career. Tony Ferguson was on a 12-fight winning streak before his match against Justin Gaethje and since then, his career has been on a downhill.

The first round against Chandler looked very promising for Tony and it looked like Ferguson reverted to his old self in the opening moments of the fight. In the second round, Chandler shocked the MMA world as he delivered one of the most brutal knockouts in UFC history. Chandler landed a front kick to Tony’s chin and he was immediately knocked out even before hitting the mat.

After his recent loss to Michael Chandler, Tony Ferguson has considered the idea of moving up to his natural weight division, i.e. the welterweight division. Tony in his recent interview with MMA Fighting, talked about moving up to 170lbs he said: “I wouldn’t mind going back up to 170, I knocked everybody out up there at 170. This cut to 155–it’s not too hard, but I lose a lot of muscle mass, man. I f*cking hate being skinny like that. I look like a little b*tch, I don’t f*cking like that.”

In his recent interview with MMA junkie, Tony revealed why he rejected Charles’ offer to train. Tony told: “I have to really reflect on what he said, because Chute Boxe is a very good school, but he is in my weight class. I’m one of the only fighters that he hasn’t finished, and I went into that fight practicing zero jiu-jitsu. I didn’t do too bad. I didn’t do as bad as Dustin Poirier just sitting there laying there. I stayed active, and I went for submissions everywhere. It’s not like I practiced really hard.
