“I guarantee my coaching is better”- Tony Ferguson issues a unique challenge to Khabib Nurmagomedov

Tony Ferguson’s career has been downhill since his loss against Justin Gaethje at UFC 249. Since then “El Cucuy” has been on a losing streak and has lost against Charles Oliveira, Beneil Dariush, and Michael Chandler. His recent loss to Michael Chandler was shocking to the world, as this was the first time Ferguson was knocked out in his career.
Despite these recent losses, Tony Ferguson is one of the top fighters in the UFC. He had a 12 fight winning steak before losing to Justin Gaethje and was one of the most dominating fighter in the lightweight division. Tony fought the top guys in the lightweight division and never backed away from a challenge, however it’s not an exaggeration to say that fans have been waiting almost a decade to see Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson fight in the middle of the Octagon.
Both fighters would have been booked to face on multiple occasions, but the fight never actually happened. A fight between Tony and Khabib is almost impossible now as Khabib has retired as a fighter and has denied to return to the octagon. Khabib Nurmagomedov is enjoying his days as a coach and a promoter, playing a huge role in the growth of Eagle FC.
However, Tony has now suggested a different was to settle the beef between the two fighters. In his recent interview with Ariel Helwani on the MMA Hour, Tony purposed the idea of competing with Khabib not as a fighter but as a coach on TUF.
Tony said: “I believe that when his dad said we were supposed to compete, I believe that. I would love to be able to coach against him in The Ultimate Fighter. How about that? You know, the best man wins on the team. I guarantee my coaching is a lot better than yours, Khabib. Not a lot of people understand that. I have nothing personal against him besides him running away for the pandemic and being a scared dude, but I gotta respect that family first.”
The possibility of Khabib accepting this challenge is very thin, as the rigid schedule of TUF might interfere with his business as promoter of the Eagle FC. Ferguson, therefore, will probably be left empty-handed, and will instead have to pursue another idea.

Tony Ferguson has revealed that he is interested in earning a degree and wants to attend a business school. The former interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson is in a reflective mood since his bizarre knockout loss against Michael Chandler at UFC 274. Tony has talked about changing his team and said that he is looking for a new camp for the future fights.
Talking about the degree, tony said he is interested in earning a business degree and he is really keen on getting one. Tony also said that getting a degree will keep him busy and it will help him surround himself with people with the same goal as him. Tony pointed out Stanford and Harvard as his choice of schools. Both Universities are one of the best business schools in the world.
Tony Said: “I just wanna stand and bang, I just wanna stand and bang bro but I can’t yet… These two months I’m gonna go and within the next week or two I’m gonna narrow it down and find a camp. I’m also going to look for a strength and conditioning coach…I’m also going to work harder on my sponsors, make sure the companies have the equity that I have and make sure they stay afloat. I wanna go back to school and get my degree. I have a choice between Stanford and Harvard to get my business degree.”
