The final face-off between Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov before their scheduled bout at UFC 249 was cancelled due to the pandemic
The lightweight bout between Tony Ferguson and Khabib Nurmagomedov is something that could have been amazing. But it never happened when both are in their primes. The fight between Ferguson and Nurmagomedov was booked five times in the past but never took place.
It’s so hard to imagine both of them not being able to compete after so many opportunities. Back then, Nurmagomedov was the lightweight champion and Ferguson was on a 12 fight winning streak and was looking unstoppable.
Everytime the talks about their fight were happening fight fans were going crazy and they still are. Now that ‘ The Eagle’ has hung the gloves and has no interest to get back inside the octagon, the possibility of that fight is less. But there is a chance that the rivalry can still continue, if not as fighters but as coaches. The current theory is that Nurmagomedov and Ferguson can compete against each other in the new season of The Ultimate Fighter as coaches.
It all started when Tony Ferguson shared the idea of him fighting with Dagestani as coach at TUF. According to ‘ El Cucuy’, him against Nurmagomedov is something that is always possible and he is ready for it.

Recently, Ferguson took to Twitter to share updates on the possible TUF competition between his team and Nurmagomedov’s team.
The fighter shared an edited poster of TUF of Nurmagomedov and him standing beside each other. Other than the poster, Ferguson wrote a message in the caption which was written in the conventional Ferguson script which is hard to comprehend. But what it seems like, Ferguson is ready to take the challenge of coaching against Nurmagomedov in TUF.

Ferguson recently got defeated at UFC 274 by Michael Chandler via a brutal KO. The loss was Ferguson’s fourth consecutive loss in UFC and it’s looking bad for the fighter. For him this opportunity with Nurmagomedov is extremely important and fans are excited about it.
