“F*ck the Haters” Tony Kelley puts out a profanity laced statement after embarrassing UFC Austin loss to Adrian Yanez
Kelley explains his actions via Instagram
Tony Kelley is on the fast track to be known as the most hated man in MMA, while people like Joshua Fabia and Brendan Schaub exist that’s a very high bar to cross. None of that seems to stop Kelley who continued his profanity-fuelled attack on every UFC fan, no holds barred.
Kelley’s first notable moment in MMA was not very flattering itself. A few weeks ago while cornering his girlfriend Andrea Lee, Kelley was heard calling her opponent Viviane Gomes a “Filthy Brazilian” already falling in the bad graces of the sizable chunk of Brazilian MMA fans. After the fight, he would double down on his comments in the name of an apology and continue his rant against Gomes with heavy racist undertones.
Before his scheduled fight against Adrian Yanez, Kelley walked into UFC Austin carrying all the negativity from his comments with him. However, he doubled down again, claiming fans to be too sensitive during media day appearances and even flipping the finger to the crowd during weigh-ins. He would also flip the finger to Yanez in the cage which eventually turned out to be the biggest mistake he made that night.
Tony Kelley says there are unknown factors causing his behavior towards Adrian Yanez in an Instagram post
While he was able to wobble Yanez once, his constant taunts angered Yanez who went on to unleash a brutal flurry of punches that out down Kelley forcing the referee to step in. Yan would return the favor here and flip off Kelley, double fingers and all to the delight of the crowd. In the post-fight presser Yanez would say he was really irritated by Kelley’s energy, who kept calling Yanez, the wish version of Jorge Masvidal.
After having a day to reflect on his actions Kelley did what everyone expected him to do and doubled down on his actions via a post on Instagram. Attaching a photo of him gesturing the middle finger Tony put out a statement that read, “At The end of the day it’s still fck you haters” While calling out anyone willing to face him next, Kelley alluded that the context to his actions go far deeper and claimed the fans were too simple-minded to grasp it. He said, “A lot of context for what happened last night but sh*t it is what it is, you simple mfers couldn’t begin to understand”
Kelley is now 2-2 in the UFC and also notably missed weight by 2.5 lbs for his bout against Yanez. At 35 it is unclear where the fighter will head to next.
