The Brazilian UFC Lightweight champion, Charles Oliveira is one of the most underrated champions in UFC history. ‘Do Bronx’ made his UFC debut against Darren Elkins on UFC Live: Jones vs Matyushenko and he has been fighting in the promotion for over a decade. Oliveira started his career in the promotion in the Featherweight division.
‘Do Bronx’ found only a little success in the division and after that, the elite submission artist moved up to the Lightweight division to make history. He made a comeback in the division against Will Brooks at UFC 210 and won the performance of the night bonus. But after that, he lost a fight against Paul Felder at UFC 218 which was his last loss in the promotion that came in 2017 and he has been undefeated since then.

After dominating Ferguson and putting an impressive win he fought for the vacant Lightweight title against Michael Chandler at UFC 262 and the Brazilian put the Houston crowd on their feet when he knocked out Chandler in the second round.
Not only this he entered his first title defense as an underdog against Dustin Poirier at UFC 269 and he silenced all the doubters after putting Poirier to sleep with a third-round submission. Now the champ will be looking forward to adding one more feather to his cap by making his second successful title defense at UFC 274.
Justin Gaethje on the other hand is one of the most violent Lightweight fighters in the division’s history. He made his UFC debut against Michael Johnson on The Ultimate Fighter: Redemption Finale but he lost two consecutive fights after that and both of them came as a stoppage loss for him.
But he put on an impressive three fights winning streak before he faced Tony Ferguson for the interim lightweight title. Gaethje didn’t only break Ferguson’s twelve-fight winning streak, he also showed the world that the Boogeyman of the Lightweight division is invincible.
Following this, he faced Khabib Nurmagomedov for the Lightweight title fight at UFC 254. But he faced a second-round submission loss and Khabib announced his retirement following this win. Gaethje once again came back into the title contention by putting a fight of the year performance against Michael Chandler at UFC 268 and now he’ll look forward to finally wrapping the title around his waist.
