Pavlovich finished Curtis Blaydes, Tai Tuivasa, and Derrick Lewis in his last three fights. The latter two in the first minute of the round and Blaydes in the third minute of the fight. Pavlovich along with Ciryl Gane, Tom Aspinall, and Jalton Almeida could reign as the future of the heavyweight division.

UFC 295 has the potential to become a retirement fight for both the headliners. Miocic is over 40 years old, and Jon Jones has no intention of fighting young and up-and-comers. Jones is solely focused on preserving his legacy. Miocis has not fought since he lost the title to Francis Ngannou.
