The UFC has announced amazing fights for the new year, 2024 with stacked cards for UFC 297, UFC 298, and UFC 299. Although these were stacked fight cards, the hype for UFC 300 was unmatched. As such, fans hoped to see the return of Conor McGregor at the historic event. But it was dismissed with McGregor’s recent fight announcement video. Now, fans feared UFC 300’s star power with major UFC stars like Islam Makhachev and Jon Jones sidelined for various reasons.
UFC 300, being a historical event of the UFC, its CEO Dana White promised to deliver massive fights. As such, a few fights were already announced and got the fans started. However, after knowing Conor McGregor wouldn’t be a part of the event, fans questioned the star power of the card. They noticed UFC star Jon Jones was sidelined due to injury and Ramadan restricting Islam Makhacehv’s participation. So, the fans wondered who would the UFC rope in to make UFC 300 a massive event.
A major reason was the UFC’s approach to stack UFC 298 and UFC 299 with exciting fights. These fight cards featured fan-favorite Alexander Volkanovski and recent UFC superstar Sean O’Malley putting their titles on the line. As such, this left UFC 300 with a void. However, Welterweight champion Leon Edwards recently confirmed being part of the historic card. As such, Belal Muhammad was rumored to be his opponent. But, fans weren’t hyped for his fight and didn’t want it to be a main-event fight.
Fight fans dreamed about interesting matchups trying to keep their curiosity fulfilled. But, these speculations only left the fans with a lot more questions. So, it was up to the UFC to answer them and deliver the historic event of UFC 300.
