“Legally changed his name”- UFC fighter Askar Mozharov took drastic measures to erase some losses from his record
Askar Mozharov
Askar Mozharov is all set to make his UFC debut at UFC Vegas 56. However, the fighter has ignited controversy because of his name, and many claim that he has been manipulating his fight records by changing his name. Askar is an MMA fighter from Ukraine and has been fighting professionally since the age of 18. Askar was supposed to make his debut against Dustin Jacoby in August 2021 but had to withdraw from the bout.
Askar has been recently called out for changing his name and has been accused of hiding his original professional MMA record. Askar has a professional record of 23 wins and 7 losses. However, it is claimed that he has whitewashed his professional record by changing his name and his losses are not mentioned in the record.
Talking about the incident, AL Zullino posted his thoughts on his Twitter account. Zullino posted a picture of a man along with a picture of Askar and claimed that he has changed his name to hide his record. However, Zullino also said that he is not confirmed the incident and is sharing what he thought.
Al Zullino said: “Man, this story about Askar Mozharov is batsh*t crazy. Dude legally changed his name in order to erase a bunch of losses from his record. On the left, the only photo I found online about Artur Sadkov. Not completely sure it’s him, though.“

“They don’t add fights”- Askar Mozharov talked about changes in the official fight record
Amid all the controversy, Askar Mozharov is all set to face Alonzo Menifield at UFC Vegas 56 on Saturday night. Askar hails from Ukraine and with the war in his homeland, it has been difficult for him to train while many of his fellow countrymen fight for the nation. In his recent interview at the UFC Vegas 56 media day, Askar Mozharov talked about the changes in his official fight record and he blamed Chinese organizations for the error in his record.
According to Askar Mozharov, he used to compete in Chinese promotions during his early days of professional MMA fighting and Chinese promotions were at fault for causing this confusion by not adding his fights to his record. Askar revealed he has been competing since the age of 18 and fought in China many times.
Askar said: “I spent so much time since the age of 18 fighting professional fights, fighting pretty much anyone that I could. A lot of the fights that I had were in China and the organizations they don’t add fights after, so you have to really pursue it to make sure they add the fights that you have, so they make sure that you have it on record. This is actually a situation that lasts 7-8 years. No one mentioned anything, no one said anything. Now when I get up to the biggest promotion, I’m in the UFC. I guess someone or one of the admins wants to prove himself.”
