In the world of MMA, female fighters break the stereotypes about strength and ability to fight. Many upcoming female fighters look to compete in the UFC and are also looking to become the UFC women’s division champions. But it doesn’t come that easy for all the women. To give serious motivation to the female fighters, one fighter came up with a serious message.
UFC flyweight Miranda Maverick, who has a 13-4 record in her MMA career, came up with something that many women use as an excuse. Menstruation is part of a woman’s life cycle, and many women face problems that can’t be shared easily with everyone. But some women dare to even talk about them. “Periods” are part of a woman’s monthly cycle, and at this time, many things can happen, like weight gain, mood change, etc.
But for Miranda Maverick, there are many more things to work on other than periods. Many female fighters choose not to compete during their periods, and according to her, this can also be a lost opportunity. When any female enters the game, they are always aware of how physical and painful the game of MMA is.
Combat sports are one of the most challenging sports, and UFC champs like Amanda Nunes and Valentina Shevchenko who have already set the benchmark. Surely Miranda Maverick is climbing stairs to achieve the championship belt.

As Miranda Maverick comes up with the message, her only focus is being mentally tough. Miranda has a Ph.D. in psychology, and no one is expected to know better than this UFC fighter that the mind can control everything.
As Miranda said, “It is already disrespectful to be a woman” when they give excuses like periods. And giving the excuse that the missing weight reason was periods. She targeted all the professionals because, as an amateur, you learn to fight against these minor challenges. She stated, “You will fight in big promotions like UFC, and giving excuses like these will be a downfall. She further clarifies everything saying, “Making weight is your job; you lose part of your pursuit if you don’t lose weight.”
Since it is not always about giving excuses, you must sacrifice your emotions. When it comes to living like a UFC champion or contender, you must always be ready. And as Miranda Maverick mentioned, weight loss is part of the job; if you are not ready, you better change the field.
