UFC reporter Laura Sanko provided her insights on the much-anticipated middleweight title bout between Sean Strickland and Israel Adesanya happening this weekend. Strickland is gearing up to compete against Adesanya for the middleweight championship at UFC 293, scheduled to take place this weekend at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena. While Adesanya is widely favored in the betting due to his impressive skills and past professional record, Sanko holds a somewhat unique perspective on how the fight might go.
During a recent interview with Mike Bohn at MMA Junkie, Laura Sanko explained that Adesanya’s precise fighting style can be compared to that of a jazz musician, contrasting it with Strickland’s relentless pressure, which she compared to that of a thrash metal artist. She revealed that with Sean Strickland‘s unconventional style and pressure, things can easily take a different turn.
“The analogy that keeps coming into my mind- is Izzy is a jazz musician; he’s out there bending notes and being extemporaneous with how he expresses himself, and Sean Strickland is like thrash metal, he’s in your face, and he’s unrelenting… It can be very effective.” During the pre-fight presser, Strickland seemed extremely confident and fans are expecting that the ‘Tarzan’ has the potential to cause a massive upset.
