Tate and Edwards were spotted in Dubai
Andrew Tate, the controversial kickboxer was recently seen alongside Leon Edwards, the welterweight champion of the UFC. Edwards was spotted at a club with Tate and his entourage posing for pictures with the social media influencer.
Edwards gained the crown of the UFC welterweights at UFC 278 when he shocked the world and knocked out Kamaru Usman in the final round of their fight. Edwards who became an overnight star in England since then has been making public appearances across all platforms from Sky Sports to WWE.
However, the bane of celebrity is not always knowing who you’re associating with. Tate, a former kickboxer was banned across all social platforms for his videos that purported misogynistic ideas and a general over-the-top masculine identity to young men.
Edwards was seen posing for a picture alongside the kickboxer and his brother, Tristan Tate who also hosts his podcasts alongside Andrew. Also in the picture is Tam Khan, a bodybuilder based in the UAE who also runs a fight promotion named after him.
Khan allegedly also boasts ties to Ramzan Kadyrov and Daniel Kinahan, two of the most controversial patrons in combat sports today. Kadyrov is most known to MMA fans for his association and patronage of Khamzat Chimaev while Kinahan gained notoriety for recently being sanctioned by the US, something that affected all MTK fighters including heavyweight champion, Tyson Fury.
Can former kickboxer Andrew Tate beat Leon Edwards in a fight?

While Tate did compete at a higher weight class than Edwards, his opposition has been nothing to write home about. His most notable victory came over UFC Veteran, Luke Barnatt, where he edged out a unanimous decision back in 2010 in his amateur MMA career.
Edwards himself is quite a large welterweight, and obviously has the resume to further boost his evident physical prowess. Tate who fought at lightweight and cruiserweight as a kickboxer has a record of 75-9 though most of his fights have been in local promotions. Cruiserweight in kickboxing between 181 lbs and 200lbs, the fomer being around the fight night weight for Edwards.
Tate made a majority of his fortune from his online ventures including but not limited to a cam girl website among other things and not combat sports. It’s safe to say that in a fight, Edwards is the vastly superior fighter among the two. Tate can be thanful that Edwards is in Abu Dhabbi, simply as an obbserver for the grand festivities of UFC 280.
