Alex Pereira has become one of the biggest superstars in the UFC in a very short period of time. The Brazilian managed to get his hands on the UFC middleweight title in his first run but unfortunately failed to defend it.

However, the fighter has successfully gained a massive fan base and is considered one of the best strikers in the promotion. But MMA is not all about striking and it is quite known that Alex Pereira is not that good on the ground. Recently, a clip has gone viral where the fighter was seen being taken down by his sparring partner Dillon Dannis who was much lighter than him.

During the first fight against Israel Adesanya, Pereira was getting dominated on the ground by Izzy for a very long duration. Izzy is not that good in wrestling but was able to easily control Pereira. The fighter is going to fight in the light heavyweight division and he would have to be careful about fighters such as Jan Blachowicz, Jiri Prochazka etc who have amazing ground games. It would be interesting to see how Pereira plans to deal with those threats.

Izzy then went on to give his opinions regards the upcoming much-anticipated fight between Pereira and Jan Blachowicz. “I think [Pereira] might knock him out. We talked for about a good two minutes or so and I gave him some advice on how to handle Jan. We had the same idea, like, he’s going to knock him out, but I warned him, ‘Look, just be careful because he knows your striking is really good so he’s going to be patient with you like he was with me.”

Izzy mentioned giving advice to Pereira and getting on the same page while talking about the fight. The champion has predicted that ‘Potan’ will have to be patient in order to drop Blachowicz out cold in order to win the fight.
