UFC 287 turned out to be an amazing event for Israel Adesanya. The ‘Last Stylebender’ managed to get his redemption against his arch-nemesis Alex Pereira. However, his wild celebration after the winner got a lot of attention.

Coming into the fight Izzy had a lot of pressure knowing that he is going against the fighter who knocked him out on two previous occasions. However, Adesanya baited the Brazilian this time and delivered a nasty blow. After the win, Izzy was super excited and went on to do various celebrations and one of them was crossing the Monster logo in the middle of the octagon. The fighter also showed a double middle finger to the Monster Energy logo.

Monster Energy has been an important sponsor for UFC for a long time now and fans often see fighters holding the drink when they wait for their hands to raise after the fight.

However, many fighters don’t do it and refuse to promote the brand. The conversations about it started when former UFC fighter Dominick Cruz called out Monster Energy executive Hans Molenkamp for a charity fight.

He said at UFC 259 press conference:“When you try to force me, and you text me if I don’t comment on your page if I don’t give you an interview, that you’re going to take what pays my bills … what are we doing?. Monster sponsors me, not you. So, this was a callout because he calls himself a pro fighter. He’s got 100 pounds weight on me, and I’m like, we can make this a win-win situation. Let’s do a charity event. The monster picks the charity, and we scrap it out.”

According to reports, Molenkamp tries to ask fighters to help him promote his own brand on the internet by posting selfies and content with them. This was not liked by many fighters who refused to do so.
