Lightweight king Islam Makhachev is the #1 P4P fighter, after his recent victory. As such, every dreamscape matchup that fans engage in consists of Makhachev. The lightweight out of Eagles MMA is a fan-favorite to compete in the historic UFC 300 fight card; however, there were clashes with Ramadan coinciding. Recently, the promotion’s CEO Dana White came under fire for his blatant injury claims about Makhachev. This was in light of a picture of the Dagestani trekking in the mountains.
Now, further footage has added more fuel to the already ablaze fire. Ramazan Akaev, a 2-0 FNG fighter from Moscow and an acquaintance, has uploaded videos to his IG Story. The video shows Makhachev executing a few sturdy muscle-ups in the open air, on the backdrop of the mountains. A prime reaction read – “Lol he won’t fight an actual contender and surprisingly only wants to fight in the Middle East.“

Fight fans have thus fired back at White’s recent disclosure about the fighter’s apparent injury. Makhachev was to face Charles Oliveira at UFC 294 for a slated title rematch, but the latter pulled out due to an injury. Recently, White’s claims and the subsequent postponement of the highly anticipated rematch have come off as disputable. Makhachev himself has also been very dismissive of such a rematch.
Additionally, with Makhachev’s apparent absence, Oliveira now faces the rising prospect Arman Tsarukyan at UFC 300. The winner gets to square off with Makhachev in a title fight. Fans haven’t acclimated well with how all of it falls into place for the 155lbs titleholder.
Fans react to video of Islam Makhachev doing muscle-ups amidst ‘injury’ status
The UFC planned to feature a lightweight title rematch between current titleholder Islam Makhachev and Charles Oliveira. This was even though the champion recently turned down Oliveira and Arman Tsarukyan’s rematch, calling out Justin Gaethje instead. Makhachev had submitted “do Bronx” back in 2022 to win the 155-pound gold.
A rematch was to take place at UFC 294 in October of 2023, but Oliveira suffered a cut during sparring and was forced to pull out of the fight.

Now, the promotions taskmaster Dana White had disclosed Makhachev’s unavailability due to an injury of his own. However, a few mountain-side footage of the fighter largely refutes this claim. Check out how some fans have reacted to this.
Even with Dominant MMA Manager Ali Abdelaziz, and Makhachev himself claiming willingness to fight, fans are skeptical. Some have prompted his willingness to fight only in Dubai, with field advantage and preference. UFC 300 takes place live From T-Mobile Arena In Las Vegas, Nevada On April 13.
