Undefeated flyweight fighter Muhamad Mokaev was challenged till the end of his fight by Malcolm Gordon at UFC 280. The 22-year-old flyweight was picked up and thrown to the canvas by his opponent in his UFC 280 fight.

Flyweight prospect Muhammad Mokaev headed into his recent fight as an 8-0 fighter. He was matched up against an experienced flyweight in Malcolm Gordon. The two met in the prelims of the much-anticipated PPV card UFC 280. Mokaev, who is known for his amazing wrestling skills was in for a surprise as Gordon really showed great strength.

Mokaev is usually the one to throw down his opponents to the mat but the tables were turned as Gordon put on a really good fight against the Russian-born British fighter. In the final round of what was a very close fight, Gordon lifted his opponent up and slammed him to the ground pulling off a pro-wrestling move. Gordon really got the Etihad Arena screaming after this takedown.

Mokaev saved his undefeated record at the end of the final round by pulling off a stunning armbar in the final minute of the fight. Gordon was never expected to put on such a performance against the flyweight prospect. The Canadian fighter was a massive underdog opening with the odds of +700.

Gordon is currently 2-3 in the UFC after his loss to Mokaev. Fans on Twitter were shocked to see the flyweight prospect get picked up and slammed on the floor as he did. Mokaev himself admitted in the post-fight octagon interview that he didn’t expect Gordon to go toe-to-toe with him. “To be honest, I underestimate this guy. I can’t do that anymore,” said the youngster as he moved his UFC record to 3-0.
