Paulo Costa continues to showcase his creative side by parodying Conor McGregor’s Proper Twelve (Whiskey) Irish Apple announcement. UFC Middleweight contender Paulo Costa is not scheduled to fight anyone after having contract disputes with the UFC but still finds himself in the news with his creativity.
Since the build-up to his fight against Israel Adesanya, the MMA community has found Costa’s antics hilarious. Rocking McGregor’s iconic turtleneck t-shirt, Costa was promoting his ‘secret juice’ by imitating McGregor’s announcement of his Proper Twelve Irish Apple. While also trying his best to impersonate the Irishman’s accent, Costa could be seen saying: “In 1991, I was born and the world was introduced to me,” before going on to hilariously introduce his ‘new liquid gold,’ Secret Juice.
Fighters and fans have often accused Costa of using banned substances due to his physique and ability to cut down to 185 lbs. Though Costa has never tested positive for banned substances, he decided to troll his haters by bringing a bottle labelled “secret juice” everywhere he goes.
Paulo Costa has not fought since his Fight of the Night victory over Luke Rockhold at UFC 278. He has been scheduled to fight Robert Whittaker at UFC 284 but ultimately withdrew from the fight following a contractual stalemate with the UFC.
Costa and UFC do not have the best relationship, with Costa asking for more money or to release him several times. UFC does not trust Costa due to the weight fiasco surrounding his matchup against Marvin Vettori at UFC Fight Night: Costa vs Vettori. Recently, he had a war of words with Khamzat Chimaev, but a fight has not materialised with the existing contractual problem with Costa and the UFC. Though a fight is not scheduled, Costa is making his presence known with his social media presence.
Khamzat Chimaev expects to face Robert Whittaker after Paulo Costa Refused to fight

Khamzat Chimaev, the number 3 ranked welterweight contender, wants to face Robert Whittaker. Chimaev has not fought since his submission wins over Kevin Holland at UFC 279. On his Instagram, he posted a picture of Whittaker and himself. Although he had an altercation with Paulo Costa, it did not lead to a fight announcement between them.
With the Welterweight and Middleweight Championships momentarily out of reach, Chimaev has decided to focus on Robert Whittaker to solidify himself as the Undisputed No. 1 Contender for both Welterweight and Middleweight Championships. With a victory at Welterweight, Chimaev will be looking forward to competing for the Welterweight Championship.
Whittaker is also without an opponent since Paulo Costa pulled out of their fight due to contractual reasons. Whittaker recently dominated Marvin Vettori to solidify his status as one of the top contenders in the division. Only time will tell if UFC will pair them up for a super fight.
