Khamzat goes by the nickname Borz which in Chechen means “wolf”. Shavkat has taken advantage of this information many times on social media to refer to Chimaev while targeting him, directly or indirectly. The wolf has a special meaning in Chechen culture.

In Chechnya, the wolf is a symbol of endurance and courage. Wolves are often mentioned in songs, stories, and legends in the Chechen culture. Shavkat Rakhmonov recently shared a video of a man holding a dead wolf in his Instagram story, where he was tagged. It isn’t Rakhmonov who killed the wolf but someone else, but fans believe it was a reference to his Chechen rival.

Rakhmonov deleted the Instagram story quickly, but Chimaev noticed it and responded after hearing about it. Chimaev wasn’t going to let Rakhmonov get away with this. He shared another version of the video and uses some illustrative emojis to highlight how he felt about it.
