Bantamweight champion “Suga” Sean O’Malley has started exposing the bad nature of MMA managers after gaining the spotlight from his champion status. After his UFC 292 performance, many sponsors and brands have lined up for O’Malley. But surprisingly, the 135-pound champ doesn’t have a manager to handle his business and does not plan to hire anyone.

O’Malley is against the idea of hiring managers and has also spoken about this before winning the title. He vowed to expose the scam that managers put on in promising young fighters an entry in the UFC. O’Malley tweeted, “ There are managers that take 20% of fighters purses AND 20% of their bonuses. If you do this to the fighters you are a POS.” Suga remains on a mission to expose the exploitative nature of MMA managers.

Suga has warned fellow fighters to be vigilant when signing a contract and take extra steps to be skeptical in this process. As a fighter, O’Malley believes there’s a lot on the line for the one who steps in the octagon. However, managers usually trick these guys into signing contracts for their gain. O’Malley also called some managers ‘scumbags’ who share a close relationship with the UFC.

After being crowned as a champion, many fighters can share their ideas and opinions. Though many fans believe that having a political stance is not something a fighter should look after. But some of them stand by the words that demanded justice for the UFC fighters. O’Malley has spoken freely about his doubts and the world will listen to him because of his champion status.

UFC flyweight champion Alexandre Pantoja recently called out new bantamweight champion Sean O’Malley. The flyweight expressed his desire to fight O’Malley and recalled a sparring session between the two. Pantoja said O’Malley refused to share him the clips from the session. Further, Pantoja also claimed that O’Malley could get humiliated if people saw the sparring session.

O’Malley responded to this beef by confirming that they did spar back in 2015. But the conditions were way different than they are now. O’Malley also claimed that he knocked down Pantoja in the first round but was later submitted by the Brazilian. Back then, O’Malley was a beginner in MMA, and Pantoja was a part of The Ultimate Fighter. Years later, they have become champions in their respective weight classes.

A big back story behind these two champions came out after their back and forth on social media. A fight between the two champions can potentially be a blockbuster now that both fighters share some history. However, they need to keep winning to convince the UFC to book the bout.
