Daniel Cormier is a former UFC heavyweight champion and among the few fighters to hold titles in two divisions. Cormier debuted in WWE as the referee for the match between Seth Rollins and Matt Riddle at the WWE premium live event “Extreme Rules”. This has led to speculation among fans for a match between Brock Lesnar and Daniel Cormier to be possible in near future.

Daniel Cormier was eager to hear about the rumors and has shown his appreciation for pro wrestling. However, Cormier has denied any such plans and said this was going to be only a one-time appearance. 

Speaking to ESPN MMA‘s Marc Raimondi Cormier said, “No, I’ve not heard anything about that. When something like this happens, and this is honestly very good for me because people start to talk; so people start talking, going, ‘Oh my goodness! I remember when him and Brock were in the Octagon.’ It seems to make a lot of sense but as you know, just because something makes sense doesn’t mean that it’s going to happen. So no, there is no talk of me fighting Brock Lesnar.”

Cormier might have denied all the rumors but as the age-old saying goes “never say never” in WWE. And Triple H at the helm of the creative team we can’t rule out the possibility.

A look into the History between Daniel Cormier and Brock Lesnar’s rivalry

Daniel Cormier was the UFC heavyweight champion back in 2018. Cormier was defending his title in the main event at UFC 226 against Stipe Miocic. Brock Lesnar confronted Cormier in the aftermath of the match. Everyone believed the two heavyweights were bound to meet inside the Octagon. But Brock Lesnar re-signed with WWE and the match never materialized.
