Joanna Jedrzejczyk will return to the Octagon next month at UFC 275 against Zhang Weili. It is her first fight in the UFC since their first matchup at UFC 248. As Joanna prepares to fight in the Octagon next month, former UFC Strawweight champion Rose Namajunas has offered Joanna Jedrzejczyk to train together.
Rose and Joanna have fought twice in the UFC and both fights resulted in the favour of Rose Namajunas. Jedrzejczyk lost her title to Namajunas at UFC 217 in her first professional loss via a first-round knockout. She then lost in their rematch at UFC 223 via a unanimous decision.
Joanna responded to Rose’s offer to train with Joanna ahead of her UFC come back and said that she would absolutely be interested in working with Namajunas even after they’ve fought twice previously and may meet again in the future one day. Joanna said: “A few days ago I got a message from Mike Brown that Rose wanted to get in touch with me. I was like ‘what Rose?’ and he said ‘Namajunas.’ I was like, of course, give her my number.

Rose’s opponent, Weili reacted to this news. In a video posted by her fan account on Instagram, she said, “Well, if I’m Rose, I would not do something like this. Because Joanna has her own team. ATT is a very professional, elite team. They produced many champions and you go interfere at this point that’s a little bit. I don’t know what she’s trying to do.”
Weili hints a little bit of disrespect from Rose while extending this offer to Joanna. She stated, “Does she think Joanna’s team is not good enough or what? I don’t know. I definitely would not do that in her shoes.”
The rematch between Rose and her would decide the next title challenger, and Weili is confident she would beat her again. “I think this rematch will be entertaining, for sure,” Zhang added. “Because this rematch will determine the title shot. And of course, we both want the title shot. So, we will leave it all in the cage for this fight. I think we have prepared for everything. Long-range, close range, BJJ, standup, everything. We prepare for everything. Because in the cage, less error means more chance of winning.”
