“No nonsense for a reason”- Belal Muhammad jokingly hails Keith Peterson after he was struck while officiating
Belal Muhammad- Keith Peterson
Referee Keith Peterson is no joke in his dedication as an official for MMA fights to ensure that both the fighters remain safe, ask UFC Welterweight Belal Muhammad about it. Muhammad is a #5 ranked welterweight in the UFC with his last fight being the biggest for his win column when he defeated Stephen Thompson via unanimous decision.
Muhammad now has wins over Thompson, Demian Maia, Lyman Good, Tim Means, Jordan Mein and many more. Muhammad is now looking forward to avenge his knockout loss when he fights Vicente Luque at UFC on ESPN 34 in a rematch. As of now, we had many reactions to UFC Vegas 48 as it unfolded many memorable finishes and upsets and Muhammad is one of those fighters to react to the fight card headlined by lightheavyweights Jamahal Hill and Johnny Walker.
Belal Muhammad impressed how Keith Peterson didn’t flinch in Chase Kelly vs Mark Streigl bout
In the prelims, featherweights Chas Kelly and Mark Streigl fought each other. Kelly dropped Streigl with a vicious knee and then followed with the punches, when it was time to call off the fight, referee Keith Peterson dived into save the losing fighter from getting any further damages and on the way, ate a vicious hook from Kelly who couldn’t stop as the dive was so sudden.
Muhammad took to Twitter to praise Peterson and said: “Dang Keith took a hook to the face and didn’t flinch he’s no nonsense for a reason”
What did you make of Peterson’s grit to take that nasty punch from Kelly? The referees can sometimes be in a dangerous position when saving the other fighter from getting further damaged, in such cases, more fighters like Muhammad should come forward to help appreciate the officials. Who do you think is next for Muhammad if he passes through Luque?
