The UFC will be back in a few days. January 17, the event is headlined by Max Holloway vs Calvin Kattar. The main card also features a name, which has been on the rise – Joaquin Buckley. The knockout artist takes on Alessio Di Chirico in a highly anticipated middleweight bout.
Buckley vs Chirico preview:
Joaquin Buckley (12-3), had a phenomenal 2020. His first fight was against Jackie Gosh in a different promotion, Legacy Fighting Alliance. But, just one week later he found himself debuting in the world’s biggest MMA promotion company. Although, he started with a loss against Kevin Holland, he then came back with a knockout that took the world by storm. Within days of executing the terrifying knockout on Impa Kasanganay, Buckley’s fame spread like wildfire. His knockout was used by rapper Kanye West to promote his new song, it even reached the White House.
Alessio Di Chirico (12-5), on the other hand, is currently stuck in a rut. He has lost all his previous three fights, albeit by unanimous decision, which also includes a loss against the fast-rising Kevin Holland. He just fought once in 2020, against Zak Cummings, losing via. UD. He will be looking forward to getting back to winning ways.
Buckley vs Chirico Prediction:
Buckley goes into the fight as the favourite, with odds of -267, according to Pinnacle. Di Chirico is the underdog, with odds of +220. Although, Di Chirico has never been knocked out in his career, but he must be wary of the sheer power ‘The New Mansa’ possesses. Expect the match to be a close one, but Buckley’s surely got this!
