“Only one legendary polish power”- Jan Blachowicz files for the term ‘Legendary Polish Power’ and it’s Polish equivalent

Jan Blachowicz

Former UFC Light-heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz, who’s knockout power is often self-acclaimed as “Legendary Polish Power”, is officially only one permitted to use the term. Blachowicz came from ups and downs as a UFC fighter to become the UFC Lightheavyweight Champion in 2020 when the belt was left vacant by Jon Jones and Blachowicz fought against former title challenger Dominick Reyes. It took Blachowicz only 2 rounds to put off a show on Reyes in a spectacular TKO victory.

Blachowicz defended his title once in what can be said as the biggest victory of his career when he defeated UFC Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya and handed the latter the first ever loss of his MMA career. However, Blachowicz has lost his title in his last fight at UFC 267 against Glover Teixeira and is now on a road back to title.

Blachowicz posted his Instagram picture and caption on Twitter and quoted there “It’s official. #LegendaryPolishPower in the Instagram caption, Blachowicz wrote “After my first win in the UFC, I said that I would like to show the world  Legendary Polish Power. I have worked really hard to make sure it is not just a cool slogan, but three words that will be my trademark all over the world. With a few exceptions – I think I managed to do just that and this tag line is permanently associated with me.

Therefore, I am pleased to inform you that some time ago at the European Union Intellectual Property Office in Alicante, an application for the word trademark of ”Legendary Polish Power” and its Polish equivalent was officially put down. Now is the time to remind everyone that there is only one Legendary Polish Power and it comes from my fists and legs [fist emoji].”
