Endeavor head Ari Emanuel breaks bank as he makes whopping $308M in 2021, 30 times more than Conor McGregor that year
Endeavor owners see massive pay packages for 2021
While the whole world struggled to make a living out of the pandemic, UFC and Endeavor owners, Ari Emanuel and Patrick Whitsell cruised through 2021 with astonishing payouts.
UFC was one of the first sporting organizations to make it out of the pandemic and put out entertaining shows for its fans and keep its business running. Endeavor took over the UFC and own the fighting organization. The biggest executives of the firm, Ari Emanuel and Patrick Whitsell made massive paychecks in the financial year 2021.
The SEC filings report that Ari Emanuel made an astonishing pay package of $308,177,233 in 2021. The Executive Chairman, Patrick Whitesell had an amassing compensation of $123 million. Most of their income comes from the Ultimate Fighting Organization and the promotion is reported to have the best years in terms of business in 2021.
Despite having a very successful year, UFC has been bashed for the treatment of fighters and the fighter’s pay. The combined pay package of the top two owners of Endeavor amount to a massive $431 million.
What the Endeavor owners have to say about UFC fighter’s pay
UFC owners did not shy away from boasting about the financial records they broke in the year 2021. Both Ari and Patrick were very proud of the MMA promotion’s accomplishments. In the 28-year history of the company, UFC posted its best financial year in 2021. The UFC revenue was up 30% from the previous year showing significant growth.
This only popped the question of poor fighter’s pay and the owner Emanuel’s defense to this question was that since taking over the MMA organization, they have increased fighter’s pay by about 600%. To put things into perspective, the executive means that since 2005, fighter pay is up by 600%.
The highest-paid fighter of 2021 for the UFC was its pay-per-view superstar, former two-division champion, Conor McGregor. Emanuel’s pay package of $308,177,233 is $100 million more than what the UFC spent to pay the entire roster of more than 600 fighters.
